Patch Pals Club Photo Gallery
One of the difficulties of patching is the emotional roller coaster both you and your child experience. Fortunately, your child's eye disorder has been discovered and you are able to seek treatment. The down side to patching is the every day reality of convincing your child to patch and keeping them motivated. Most likely, they do not have friends who are patching and they may feel that they stick out or that people are staring at them. We have found that when a child wears his Patch Pal eye patch people comment on the fun picture design on the patch and not the fact that your child is patching. This new attention from others can create positive feelings for your child instead of the negative feelings of being different. We also know that seeing other children who are patching and going through the same process can provide comfort to children. They become part of a group instead of going through the patching process alone. The Patch Pals Club is an exclusive club for kids who are patching. When you join the club you will receive your official Patch Pals t-shirt, a certificate verifying your membership, and an awareness bracelet that states "PATCHING MAKES MY EYE STRONG". We are hoping members will send us a picture of themselves to add to our Photo Gallery. That way patching children can find comfort in seeing others from all over the world who patch just like they do.
